“Colorado toxicology official warns parents of tests like one that found benzene in Erie boy’s blood” – Denver 7 News

When Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Toxicologist Mike Van Dyke reports on their late investigation into Dr. Beth Ewaskowitz’s son’s high benzene levels in Erie, he points to inadequate testing procedures and dismisses everyone’s concerns by saying it is “a huge challenge” without offering any solutions. Dr. Ewaskowitz expresses the frustration of many when she replies, “I feel it is the responsibility of both the oil and gas operators as well as the state to help locate an appropriate test. I think it is a question of where their priorities lie.”
