This front page Denver Post story cites “growing public opposition” along with “capacity constraints in processing and transporting the natural gas produced alongside the more valuable oil” as the reason for the producers either moving out of Colorado or within Colorado to more rural areas.

This report was based on statements made at the DUG Rockies oil and gas conference a day after Thorton’s 750-foot buffer regulation was overturned in district court.
