As described in recent 7 News story, Erin Martinez will take center stage on Thursday morning (11/21/2019) to advocate for removal of plugged and abandoned flow lines as well as better mapping and awareness for residents of where active flow lines run. Her husband and brother were killed in an explosion more than two years ago– an explosion that happened because an uncapped gas line owned by Anadarko Energy was leaking non-odorous but highly explosive gas into their home for months. They were not aware of the leak as they were installing a new hot water heater. Martinez hopes to impress the importance of better regulations and accountability for the industry in Colorado.
