Efforts continue by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to locate and repair Davis 43-6 well, a faulty plugged and abandoned well in Anthem Highlands that is under Graham Peak Way. The methane leak was detected in June during elevated routine soil gas measurements by the City and County of Broomfield (CCOB).
According to a CCOB announcement, extra pavement is being dug up in order to find the well casing. After the casing is located, it is estimated that repairs will take two weeks. It also states that, “Concurrently, the COGCC will be conducting further characterization of the extent of subsurface contamination and determining any necessary remediation requirements.”
