The spudding rig has arrived at the Northwest A Pad. There will be 8 wells drilled on the Northwest A Pad. You can read the entire public notice posted by the City here.
Since the City has recently indicated that they have no written statement from Extraction guaranteeing that Extraction will continue to use Neoflo drilling mud which emits fewer VOCs than the previously used Gibson drilling mud, residents living near the Northwest A Pad are concerned. There was evidence of the importance of the drilling mud change at the August 27 Council Meeting. The Second Quarter Report for Broomfield’s Air Monitoring Program showed that the change in drilling mud to Neoflo 4633 reduced VOCs that might have otherwise impacted sensitive populations.
